Who we are: Welcome to seattlescooter.com, Ducat Seattle's scooter-only
website. We’ve dedicated this site to promoting the idea of using a scooter
as an alternative to the automobile, the bus, or a cab for getting around.
Sure, small displacement scooters are fun for buzzing around town. But we’re
talking about something more than “the ride is the destination”.
We’re talking about using the scooter as a personal transportation device.
The serious scooterists already know this, but for the new people, we say using
a scooter to commute or to pick up a few things at the store is a sensible,
efficient (and very fun) way to do these things.
What we sell: With each new scooter on the street
there is one less car on the street. We describe the scooter/personal transportation
device as a “10 mile radius vehicle”. A scooter with a 50cc motor
will easily take you anywhere you can go by bicycle in the city – up
any of the hills, down to the lake. With a range of scooter
sizes from 50cc
to 150cc, there really aren’t many places you can’t get to on a
scooter."
Is scootering for you?: Scootering isn’t for everybody. When you’re
on your scooter, you don’t have the opportunity to yak on a cell
phone, eat, drink coffee or do anything else that’s inappropriate to do
when operating a motor vehicle. Besides, you’ll be too busy having fun
as you smoothly and rhythmically make your way through traffic. You get to concentrate
on where you are and what you’re doing. You’ll get where you’re
going faster, park quicker, and get on to your next appointment with less drama
than
in a car. And you’ll get it all done cheaper too. You’ll find
that your scooter is easier (and possibly in the near future – less expensive)
to park, and tons cheaper to insure. Sure, you’ll get a little wet when
it rains, but we have all kinds of stylish and functional all-weather gear to
show you.
How ‘bout them gas prices?: When it comes to
fuel consumption – scooters
sip, cars and SUVs suck. Typically, you can look forward to 60 to 100 miles per
gallon. It’s pretty clear that we won’t be seeing sub-$4/gallon gasoline
around here anytime soon – if ever again. In a car you probably go through
a gallon of gas in a couple of hours – 4 or 5 hours tops. That same gallon
of gas will last you a week in a scooter. Drive less – scooter more Take
a look around seattlescooter.com. We hope you’ll find it to be a fun site
with all kinds of interesting information about scootering. Also, we hope you’ll
come down to the showroom and look around there also. We’re sure we’ve
gota scooter that will fit your needs. With a little bit of direction,
our sales staff can fix you up with a personal transportation device that will
make sense for you.
